We were blessed with amazing, warm weather for the Secondary OzTag Gala Day and this aided in the success of the carnival.  After last years bad weather, and having to cancel the event, everyone was happy we could go ahead this year.

The Secondary OzTag carnival ran smoothly. The teams were very organized getting on the field in time, which made the day run ahead of time which was good because there were 2 major injuries which happened at almost the same time.

Both injuries were from students from the same school. It was great to see their team mates gathering in a huddle to pray for the boy and then assist in carrying the girl off the field gently too. The boy’s injury was more serious, as an ambulance had to be called. Our prayers are with him for a quick recovery.

The boys Finals ended in a draw so they had to play extra time until there had been a Golden Point. It was very entertaining to watch. The Girls final was very close also, with the winner just scoring on the whistle.

We were provided with brilliant referees, who were qualified and dealt with any issues with confidence and professionalism. They were very busy, going from one game to another, with minimal breaks throughout the day. They were organized, and most schools and teachers had nothing but good comments to say about them.

Overall, it was a successful day and we hope that everyone enjoyed the days of competition.
